Genre Genie is a browser-based creative tool operated by Archaic Intel. We do not ask you to create an account, and the supplied site does not run a hosted workspace database or collect your lyrics, creative briefs, API keys, saved directions or chat history into an operator-managed account.
Information stored on your device
Your sound notes, saved genre choices, direction history, existing lyrics, local conversation history and AI usage records are stored in your own browser. You can export your workspace and usage ledger. Your data may be lost if you clear browser data, use private browsing or change site origins.
Your API key
Genre Genie does not receive or save your API key on an Archaic Intel server. Your key is kept only in browser memory unless you explicitly select the option to remember it. Remembered keys are stored locally, encrypted in IndexedDB with a key held on the same device. That does not prevent access by someone who controls your browser, device or extensions. You can remove your key in the builder. Use your own provider-side spending limit.
AI processing and provider policies
When you choose an AI feature, your browser sends the information needed for that request, potentially including your notes or existing lyrics, directly to the model provider you selected, such as Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenRouter. The provider can process and retain requests under its own privacy policy and terms. Genre Genie cannot control a provider’s data retention, training or billing policies. You can use the local genre-matching functionality without an API key.
Hosting and unavoidable technical information
The site uses Cloudflare to serve its pages. As with normal website hosting, Cloudflare may receive IP addresses, browser information and request logs to deliver and protect the site. The provided website does not install an operator-managed analytics tracker or advertising SDK. Optional Google Fonts and outgoing Spotify or YouTube search links involve those services only when requested or followed.
Copyright and user responsibility
Song titles, artist names and reference material are offered for discussion, research and musical inspiration. Genre Genie does not supply copyrighted recordings, and users are responsible for ensuring that anything they create, upload, copy or distribute complies with applicable rights and provider terms. See our copyright and takedown policy for rights-holder requests.
Changes and contact
We may revise this policy if the product changes. This document describes the supplied static version of the site, not guarantees about independent AI providers or hosting companies. Questions, privacy requests or corrections:
